Forever Breeze
Rated: PG
Pairing: Fuu/Ferio
The cool evening breeze tossed Fuu’s blonde locks behind her head, she shivered slightly and leaned her head on Ferio’s shoulder. She snuggled her face in, slowly breathing in his warm scent.
“Fuu-chan,” Ferio whispered to his love.
She closed her eyes not wanting to hear what he had to say. “Shhs,” she hushed him and buried her face deeper into his shoulder.
He laughed she was too cute, and too perfect by his side. “Fuu-chan, the sunset is long over,” he pointed out.
They sat on top of a hill, with a big old tree where they had carved their names over four years ago now. A blanket of darkness lay over the kingdom, and stars began to dot the sky.
“It’s late my dear, we should go in,” Ferio said gently lifting her head.
Fuu sighed and looked up at him with teary eyes. “I don’t want this night to end.”
Ferio took her delicate hand and lead her down the hill, holding tightly, quietly sharing the same impending separation feelings as his love.
Tears ran down Fuu’s face and dropped silently on to the grass. It was for sure her last night in Cephiro for a while, she would be going to a University in the United States and would have the chance to go to Tokyo towers as often as she’d been used too. Part of her wanted to not go to school to try and lose herself in Cephiro, but Ferio was still a prince and wasn’t ready even socially or really emotionally for the idea of marriage.
Ferio lead Fuu down a different path than normal and it began to make Fuu a little nervous. “Fuu-chan I have all these feelings right now,” he paused and noticed her eyes had hit the ground. “I don’t know how exactly to explain everything that’s on my mind and in my heart…”
Her skin quickly became hot and sweat began to pour out of her she felt weak with worry.
“Ferio,” she whispered.
He put a finger to her lips and continued, “I feel like we’re going in to different directions. I’ll be so busy catching up on studies for running a kingdom. And well business will often take me away from the castle…”
Her heart sunk, here she was her last night with him and he was going to break her heart in a stupid dark unclear pathway.
Ferio gulped this was harder than he though! He had done it over and over in the bathroom, talking to a plush mokona, looking it in the eyes and pouring his heart out. Too bad Mokona wasn’t really Fuu… But Umi had told Ferio all about college, and how mature college boys are. They’re not even boys they’re men! Umi said that she herself wasn’t going to be tempted by these mature men because she had Clef who was much older than any man on earth…
“This is stupid! How could you?” Fuu blurted out. Her eyes filled to the brim with tears as she tore her hand away from him. “Here in a dark stupid path!”
Ferio push her forward past some brush where she met trees filled with lights strung up and a beautiful glass bistro table set out with beautiful Cephiro crystal glasses and a small cake.
She wasn’t sure not what to think, would Ferio be so tacky as to dump her and then suggest cake? He did love to eat, but the candles where a little odd…
“I’ve obviously screwed this up already so,” He got down on one knee as she turned around and blushed horribly. “Fuu will you make me the happiest guy on Cephiro and marry me?”
Fuu just stood there wide eyed grinning ear to ear while Ferio held out an open box with a beautiful diamond in the center and green jeweled wings extending out. Ferio stayed there on one knee for what seemed like forever until Fuu finally nodded yes.
“You jerk, I thought you were breaking up with me!” Fuu said as she wiped a tear away from her eye.
Ferio laughed and put the ring on her finger the ring looked just perfect, even more perfect than he had first imagined.
Fuu of course squealed and threw her arms around Ferio something that she normally would have not done but this was a special occasions and no one was watching them anyway.
Ferio directed Fuu to sit down. “You know I thought you’d never say yes,” Ferio admitted as he pushed her chair in for her.
“Why ever not?” She said sounding very puzzled.
Ferio scratched his head, “well ya know you just kinda stood there staring at me…” He trailed off and sat down.
Fuu laughed “oh? It didn’t feel quite as long as you just claimed.”
Ferio poured them some champagne.
“Well serves you right for making me think you were going to break up with me,” she sniffed with a smile.
“I’m sorry I told you I suck at words sometimes.” He said as he kissed her on the forehead.
“I know.”
“So uh, how about after cake we go to bed?” Ferio asked with a wink.
Fuu laughed, “you bet.”
