Error message

I got a nasty error message the other day:

Warning: A problem with the cooling system has been detected.
Please turn off the computer immediately, and return it for service.

It only happens when my 3D card kicks in. I think it’s related to the logic board they replaced to fix my keyboard a few months ago.

Open your case and see if the fan on the graphics card (if there is one) is broken.

This, of course, assumes you have an x86 PC with the usual odds and ends. If you have a Mac you may ignore this unless your graphics board is in a slot of some kind. :)

It's a laptop (Tablet PC, actually) -- that's the problem. Don't want to void my extended warranty by attempting anything myself :(

Point taken. :) Yeah, if it's under warranty may as well inflict it on the manufacturer. :-)
