Although I could see this as Lewis/Wilbur, I'll choose not to XD
I loved the idea behind the whole drabble... when Lewis grows up, Wilbur wouldn't remember what happened but he would. On the other hand, in the future Lewis met, Wilbur would remember and the relationship with his father could be really changed. Time travel gives me a headache XD
So... would Lewis invent the time machine again? Could he visit the 'alternate dimension' that is the future he knew? The Wilbur he knew?
Oh there's nothing but a tiny single whiff of Lewis/Wilbur XD There's nothing really there at all. *cough*
But yes, time travel gives everyone headaches DX I wonder if the future that Lewis went to would exist or not, because he said "I'm not going to invent you" to Doris, and Doris just kinda.. disappeared after that. Is it possible that that future wouldn't exist because there's no need to?
*cough* I might write more if you gimme a prompt XD *cough*

But honestly.. Do you know how badly the time travel thing is eating my brain? I kept tossing and turning last night because I was trying to figure it out, so that somehow L/W can work out in my head, and my brain wouldn't let me sleep at all DXX
....But there might be a possibility of Wilbur traveling to the oh-so-distant past to see what his father could have been like oh.. how many years ago? XD
But really, how old is Lewis in the future? He's 12 in the "present" and Wilbur is like, 13, but how old was Cornelius?
How old was Lewis? Well, I've mapped it all out! :D Lewis is twelve, which and he goes 30 years into the future to 2037, so he was born in 1995 and in 2037 he is 42. :D Wilbur was born in 2024. ^_^
So Cornelius is an old fart older man huh XD But Franny doesn't look 40+ O_O She's still so pretty~♥
Thank you for.. er.. figuring it all out XD I was wondering though.. where did it say that he traveled to 2037?
*cough* I want to figure something out so that Lewis ain't so old ._. I might actually write something more XD It'll be more like Lewis/Wilbur though (because of the setting that I made for this drabble) and possibly some Wilbur/Lewis if I ever get round to writing it XD I don't want to give too much away now do I XD
