I had the same problem.... when you're a "project"/ something to fix or change, everyone in the world lines up at your door. But, let them see you stand on your own, and where did everyone go??? Sometimes it's easier to find people with issues, because they make you feel better about being as screwed up as you are... but once we with the issues are strong, we don't make them less pathetic. Do me a favor.... take a good look at everyone who was there for you at 13, and look real hard at their issues, you'll see I'm right.

Now, the hard part... you're not as fucked up, and that means you aren't a magnet anymore. But that also gives you the chance to find a real connection with worthwhile people. Trust me, there aren't as many out there as you hope.

I never really got to talk to you all that much, and this is coming in way late. As someone who's generally on the introvert end of the spectrum, I also wonder about these things. I have yet to find an answer, but I sometimes wonder if it's just that I come off too placid and no one knows how to find their way in. Currently, I find myself frustrated with most everyone I've let in.

I hope your rock hopping is going well. I can't speak for anyone else up this way, but you are missed.
