Changing places

There are a few times when Ten feels very relaxed. For one after getting a mission done with. She sometimes even hummed tunes to songs she has heard in the Xavier Facility. She did notice when the busy streets she had been on bleed into the Nexus. It made her feel a sense of unease but she still hummed tugging the cap on her head lower as she ( Read more... )

Even when Constable Fraser isn't in uniform, he seems to manage to be conspicuous by presence; perhaps it's got a lot to do with his tendency to wear his flat-brimmed Stetson even when he's off-duty. Or maybe it's the white wolf who seems perpetually around him, almost an extension of his own self. Either way, he's a difficult man to miss, even in a crowd, and he appears to be absorbed in looking at some paperwork in his hands.

Ten isn't sure what to think of seeing him when she spots him. There is her very giddy inner-child who Ten would personally enjoy tying up and tossing into a deep chasm never to be heard in her mind again. Then of course is the part of her that isn't pure soldier who wants to indulge in the pleasant feeling of seeing someone she views as pack.

Ten looks away from him and gulps deeply. That was a mistake her sharp senses do not enjoy polluted air. Ten counts to five then gives into her own curiosity being happy that time passes very slowly on her home reality.

She's just going to find a spot and do some covert Fraser watching. Heck she'll even put up the ruse of repairing a small section of fence that had come loose while she's doing some Fraser watching. Such activities must be carefully planned after all.

Fraser is dressed entirely differently than she's likely used to seeing him: he's wearing what should be casual jeans, a red checked flannel shirt and a brown leather jacket and hiking boots, but he somehow seems to make them seem formal, despite their functional appearance.

He also seems otherwise absorbed in the sheaf of paper in his hand, and he's standing out of the direct flow of pedestrian traffic as he looks it over, apparently totally unconcerned with his current location. His expression is unreadable, but serious, as always. Diefenbaker is dozing at his feet, in the ultimate expression of wolfish boredom.

Ten finds it very curious indeed. She has no idea what to think of him out of uniform. But she does find it humorous that she is supposed to be on the job. Though the tiny flag of guilt over that text book perfect shot she got after hours of waiting is starting to weigh on her thankfully she was able to grab the foreign feeling and push it into the box of things she would deal with at a latter date.

Ten eyed his attire as she 'worked'. It was different and she wondered if he was supposed to be under cover. If he was he was terrible at it. Ten's mouth quirks as she glances at the stained cover-alls she happens to be wearing. Being dressed like this is unusual for the soldier but not unheard of when on a mission. She then wondered if perhaps Fraser was just off duty instead of being undercover. With his hat around as well as Diefenbaker that seemed so much more likely.
