Discovery involving mushrooms

While researching how to get rid of the mushrooms in my potted plant, I came across some info. Apparently the visible part of a mushroom is the reproductive organ of a fungus, functioning to eject spores. The main body of a fungus exists as a network of fibrous masses in the soil.

So, in essence, mushrooms are giant spore penises. XD
