Hurry up and wait

That's my job description in a nutshell. Since I came back to work just before labor Day, my miles have been less than half of what I usually get. And once again, work screws up and sends me way in the opposite direction when it's coming up for time to make my way west to go home. I know the feeling of not getting home when you've given the dispatcher weeks of advance notice. I drove truck for close to 19 years. I got sick and tired of it. They don't like it when you deliver a load late. But they don't mind getting you home late..

Once I've got my mate moved out to where I live, I'm getting out of otr for good and getting a daycab job. Sadly that's probably not until next july
