Is that for real? Aren't Kaneda and Tetsuo teenaged street punks? Even Chris is too old for that role let alone Joaquin Phoenix!!! What a bucket of fail.

I don't care about Akira, honestly, so I can't help wishing they'd take Keanu Reeves and maybe give Chris Pine to the Cowboy Bebop remake

I'm with you, he'd make an awesome Spike. Plus, there is less danger of white washing with Cowboy Bebop since the series is quite westernised for an anime.

They're shooting in August, so it won't be Chris unless they accept to delay shooting by several months.
