Space....The Final Frontier!

Okay, I had to delete that last post. It went FUBAR and died on me. Sorry :(

EDIT: Gah! Still the underline! It won't go away. D:

BASICS

Name/Nickname: Brittaney
Age: 20

Likes/Hobbies I love reading, playing football and softball, being around my friends, writing (mostly as a stress reducer), walking, riding my bike, swimming, participating in my various fandoms, space, astronomy, travelling, learning about other cultures, caramel frappuccnos
Talents: I’m told I work really well under pressure. I never really believed anybody until a few years ago when I quickly formed a bucket line to save camper’s belongings from a rapidly flooding basement. Academically speaking, I’ve always done pretty well in the social sciences. I’m a history major who has no idea what she wants to do with her life (I was considering becoming an archaeologist or a museum curator or something. I really don’t know)
Dislikes: racism, bratty children (I’m a nanny, I’m allowed to say this), parents who cannot control their children, loud noises, being snuck up on, homophobes, being intolerant of other people’s cultures, being in church, drama, etc.

THE PERSONALITY PART

Strong points: Independent, optimistic, flexible, easy-going (with most anybody but my sister), creative, logical, funny, quick thinker, politeness
Weak points: confrontational (with parents, sister), clumsy, jumpyness, anxiousness, fear of being wrong, learning to trust people, allowing myself to open up, introversion, procrastination …

What do other people see you/describe you as?: I’m generally described as being quiet and polite.

EITHER OR
Add "why?" if at all possible.

Mature or Immature?: Mature. I think mostly to separate me from my father and his three brothers who still all act like they’re twenty when in reality they’re all around fifty.
Leader or Follower?: Leader. Mostly because I’m a quick thinker and use my “grace under pressure” to my advantage.
Outgoing or Shy?: Outgoing around my friends, and generally shy until you get to know me. I’m a think before I speak kinda girl.
Confident or Modest?: A bit of both really.
Safe or Risky?: I play it safe generally.
Optimistic or Pessimistic?: I try to stay optimistic.
Realist or Idealist?: Realist.
Low, medium, or high energy level?: I hate the drama high energy people tend to bring, but I’m not a dull person either. I hope I’m in the middle.
Listener or Speaker?: Listener, until I have something worthwhile to say.
Serious or Playful?: Generally serious, but I can be playful around people I know.
Impulsive or Cautious?: I’m not one to throw caution to the wind and say “to hell with it.” My father was rather strict growing up so I’m not one to do the latest thing just because everybody else was doing it. (I can’t count the times I’ve heard the ‘Bridge’ story…*rolls eyes*)

IN STAR TREK

So the Enterprise has been invaded by an outside force and is being threatened unless the captain surrenders the ship. (What else is new?) What would your reaction be in this situation? Would you panic? I wouldn’t panic. I would weigh the options and listen to suggestions from my officers. I will not always have the right answer, so hopefully between those two things, I will have found the best option.

So now they've got you captured and are threatening you. It's either spill the beans about the secrets of the Enterpise or be killed on the spot. How long does it take for you to reach your breaking point? (Do you have one?) Oh, kark. Depends on the secret, I would say. If it’s something vital to the survival of the crew, then I would be able to hold out. If being tortured, I’d like to think I have a high pain tolerance (blame the many surgeries I’ve had).

And if you were on a ship of some sort, what kind of position (captain, medical officer, security guard, etc.) would you be comfortable with? Ideally, I’d like to be the captain. Probably because I can’t stand the sight of blood, I’m not mathematically gifted (there goes the rest of the sciences), and I’m not terribly strong (security’s out!), and I couldn’t tell you what the difference is between a plasma conduit and plasma injector.

Anything else?: In this comm's User Profile, did anybody else notice “James Luc-Picard” type-o under the Stamp section? Just curious.
