I was unimpressed by Shopgirl. Maybe you'll like it more. I don't know...Steve Martin just creeped me out. I couldn't get over how he looked. His skin is too taut or something. Like too much plastic surgery.

I will give the movie tons of credit for not making too many LA metaphors in the script. It only happened like once or twice and the rest of the time you would have to know of the landmarks or the camera work did the metaphors for you. It's not like Claire Danes was all like on the phone, "Hey, I'm going to Spaceland to blow some steam."
