Step it Up, 2011

Haven't posted in several days due to an attack of diverticulitis (which is much better than having a worsening of the kidney problems like I thought I had). Am improving on Flagyl and liquid diet but still have no energy and quite a bit of discomfort. Oh hell I'll just admit it. I feel like crap. I don't know whether to shoot myself or go ( Read more... )

I use natural teas when I'm having my health issues. I like Traditional Medicinals best. Their Detox and Ginger teas are wonderful. I don't know if this will help with what your going through, but it can't hurt. Your liver and kidneys have to work harder when breaking down tablets of any sort. The teas help with liver & kidney function.
Fell better soon!

Thank you, Rhiannonmai. I am certainly open to suggestions as this has been going on several days and as you can tell I am tired of feeling bad!! There is a good health food store down the road and I will try and get there this afternoon for some teas.

Ugh, that sounds terrible. I hope things improve soon for you. One idea that came to mind was to try some of the homeopathic remedies, which can be picked up at a health food store. They tend to be slow-acting, but help to work at the problem, rather than simply covering up symptoms. You mostly likely know about not mixing alcohol and Flagyl, since Flagyl is close in structure to Antabuse.

Take it easy.

Thank you, Bastet. I probably brought the attack on with crunchy peanut butter, as I lost my appetite and was substituting peanut butter for more nutritious food prior to getting sick. The diverticulosis is so severe I can't even have colonoscopies anymore, so I just have to be more careful in the future. I can't drink anyway due to all the meds I am on, but don't mind admitting that I sure wish i could sometimes haha!!

:( I hope you start feeling better soon--it's so frustrating to feel so ill and have no energy, especially when you want to do things and enjoy the new year. <3 Thinking of you!

I have really severe diverticulosis and when my colon got inflamed and it turned into diverticulitis I felt it all up in my left side primarily--but am much, much better today!!!! Yea!!! Thanks, Cat, I could use some advise, all my doc has told me is don't ever get constipated. I have pretty much figured out what to avoid but the crunchy peanut butter was a big mistake. *hugs*
