Question: Why is no one doing cutting edge theatre? i know that's a horrible cliche term, but I go see plays in New York, and everyone's just trying to get along, just trying to survive, THUS the theatre they're doing has no risk to it and is barely interesting. I mean, really, what's the point of theatre if it's not risky or musical? You might as well just do television. :)

people write the risky plays. then people like me read them on behalf of some theatre, get all misty-eyed and dream about "if only we could afford to do it..." and then they end up on the special shelf for work too good to toss and too risky to produce.
sigh.
