I need advice on my idea for my college essay. I'm thinking about taking some sort of picture of myself, and then tearing it in half, and on the back writing, "A picture is worth a thousand words, but you only want 500, so here's half ( Read more... )

that's a really good idea, but tear it left/right instead of top/bottom.

I would just have it say a picture is worth a thousand words with half of the picture and make them get it themselves.

That would be my preference too, but since this is already a risky idea i think just doing that would push it over the line from risky to not good. I think that I still have to make it clear what the intent was.

If you do it like that, though, then it's kind of taking away from the risk, like you are trying too hard to get your point accross rather than just letting it present itself, which it will.

I think that's a really cool idea.. I mean you are still writing the essay right? So you're only adding on to it and being like whoa man Im cooool

Hey I'd love to take the pic too! I have to think of stuff though.. I guess it would have to be based on what you write on the essay. What do you want to say about yourself??

If I do it I probably won't write an essay. It would fall under the choice essay category. Ideally, the picture would be something intriguing, where I'm interacting with something/someone. It should make the entrance board want to know whats going on in the other half or make them interested in me

that sounds good.. do you have any specific ideas? this is cheesy but the first thing that popped (pooped) into my mind was a headphone cord going into the other half. maybe you're looking at the thing on the other side, talking, whatev. ill talk to you on aim tomorrow if youre around!
