Today while I was driving to my first delivery, I happened to catch a bit of a CBC radio program on mixed race identity in Canada, called Mixed Blessings. Pretty basic stuff, nothing new, but nice to hear on the radio anyway.

So I am in Montreal, and there is worry that the downtown core might collapse due to a crack in the underground. They've shut down the green line on the metro from Lionel-Groulx to Berri-Uqam (luckily one can skirt around that area on the orange line, or I would have been in trouble), and apparently they've closed several blocks downtown. So I was looking at the University of Cape Town website, and I saw that the fall term starts in February. I'm somewhat seriously considering applying to the African Gender Institute for the coming term. Any thoughts on male circumcision?

I can't recall a summer so grey and dreary as this. But at least it makes for great produce. I've been visiting the local market almost every day. Fresh berries, perfect sweet green peas, and corn season is coming soon. Mmmm.

So. I'm back in Ottawa. Just left all of my Montreal LJ communities. It's making me sad sad sad.

There are great things about Ottawa, but compared to Montreal it's so nice and dull. What am I going to do with myself?

This is kind of interesting: Why the word "mutt" makes me wince via Racialicious.
