Although...there is this tiny little part of me that wants him to die temporarily. So that Sam will have to rip off his shirt and wander through the fires of hell only to emerge on the other side with his brother in his arms, chest heaving, muscles bulging, and all covered in dirt and sweat. Sheer brilliance on paper, I know. :D

I'm thinking Kripke should recruit YOU to write the finale!! =]
It's gone from being Dean's sanctuary to Sam and Dean's sanctuary, but I guess it's too small because it is something they need to outgrow. Or Dean does. And there's this HUGE, elephant-sized thing brewing in there between them that just can't be contained in this little car anymore and this show is SO BRILLIANT!
Hellfire in his eyes, and that EVIL!SAM look!! It just really excites me because Sam's such a beast when he wants to be (I think it's part of why I love Ruby and the way she brings that out in him). Guh. Here's hoping the strike doesn't affect the outcome of this plot arc all that much. *crosses fingers*
Bela kind of does win. I wasn't into her until she said, 'fine, I'll deal with it myself, like I always have,' and then I watched the whole thing again and decided she was pretty awesome all throughout. XD
Yeah, I mean the car is total history. They've been in it since they were small children, Dean still listens to tapes he hasn't changed in ten years, it's this very ironically stationary thing. Like Dean. And I think they needed it in the beginning because they needed to become brothers again and that was the place to do it. And Dean naturally still dominated like he always had and his car kind of stood for that. But the tables have been turned, Sam's grown up and needs his own space, and Dean's kind of being forced out of his little sanctuary.
This show is made of so much awesome it's not every funny....

Partially have to disagree with you (yes, I always faithfully read your SPN recaps right after I've watched the episode, which is now 10 mins ago, smoke break allowing.)
I think Bela is the first female charrie I loved from the beginning. She's something different. All the other girls? Either hunters (whatshername? The roadhouse girl, I found her really annoying) or demons. And it could be me, but the script writers allow precious little personality variety where the demon girls are concerned. They all (cleverly) talk out of their arses, they all have an overtly give-a-fuck attitude towards 'life' in general...seems much like the same character played by various actors. Bela, on the other hand, is far removed from being a hunter or demon. If you're an Anne Rice reader: she reminds me of Raglan James, the body thief. Completely in there yet not, seeking profit through the exploitation of both sides that have a very intense conflict. I like her at the sidelines like that

Dude, we always disagree on characters, don't we? Although, I give you, Jenny's kinda grown on me (L Word).
I think there is a slight difference between all of the different demons, although they do rely on that don't-give-a-fuck attitude too much, which I don't think was appropriate where Casey was concerned and was why I didn't buy her wanted to save Dean's life at the end (after just randomly killing the other hunter guy for kicks? ya right). To me, Jo was always just an incompetent little reflection of Dean himself, which Ruby isn't; she definitely knows her stuff and she actually thinks she's better than everyone else, she doesn't just act like it. And unlike Meg, you can kind of tell she's no one's servant. Meg was always a bit more serious about things; she sometimes had a sense of humor but mostly just spewed mean insults and tried to do dirty work undercover. Ruby strikes me as someone who actually does just have her own agenda and, if she does have to answer to someone, isn't all that concerned about doing it. She
