1.) Earlier in season 3, we heard Sam referred to as the "Boy King". How much do you think Sam's supposed Boy King status will have to do with saving Dean's soul?
Probably a lot. I can't imagine Ruby's being interested in him for any other reason and so I'd imagine it would be the only leverage Sam might have over any other demon, including the one who holds Dean's contract.
2.) When Dean feels like he's in some actual trouble (like worrying about his soul going to hell and all), he hides his emotions from Sam. All we know so far is Dean's curious about "what [it's] like down there." How do you think Dean's really feeling? Is he really as care-free as he acts in front of Sam? Is he viewing his journey down to hell as the next great adventure? Is he more scared than he's ever been? Or something else completely?
The thing is, I think he did want to die in the beginning because he saw it as a kind of rest. He has no idea where his life is going and he's had to be the family rock for so long I don't think he was lying when he told Sam that he was tired and that he could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I recently read Zola's L'Assommoir and he reminds me a bit of Lalie who saw death as her one indulgence after living her entire miserable life for other people. But I think in Sin City it kind of hit home to Dean that he's not getting any kind of rest out of this deal, that Hell is real and so terrifying that demons are trying to escape it and so now, yeah, I think, like everybody else that Sammy got it pretty much right, Dean's terrified. And for his own life, which is a step forward.
He may to some extent be worried about Sammy, but I think he's also recognizing how capable Sammy is and how his not needing Dean in that sense is maybe not such a bad thing. I think Dean's always been afraid of the day Sammy doesn't absolutely need him to be that person standing between him and danger because he figures Sam won't want him if he doesn't need him, but I think he started getting over that last episode.
3.) We already know the Supernatural writers aren't afraid to use a supernatural creature more than once as the focus of an episode. What do you think about bringing back one (or more) of the minor characters from a past episode/season (i.e. someone Sam and Dean have helped while solving a case)?
I really don't remember most of the people they helped. I think it would be cool if they brought back Layla since she and Dean seemed to have such a connection, but I suppose part of the point was our not knowing what happened to her.
4.) In "Fresh Blood", Sam says that since he was four years old, he's been watching Dean. It seems like something significant happened when Sam was four, so do you think Sam's been watching Dean ever since something hunting-related or ever since something brother/family-related or something else completely?
4 seems to be the magic number on SPN; Dean was 4 when the house burned and had 4 years without Sammy and then Sammy in turn had 4 years in college without Dean. So maybe that has something to do with it, they just like the number 4. And also, of course, that's probably just as far back as Sam can remember.
5.) Just for fun: We know Dean likes to think of himself as Batman (the Impala makes one hell of a Batmobile!). What kind of superhero do you think Sam sees himself as?
No idea, I haven't really thought about that much.
ALSO! Does anyone know where I can get screencaps for OoTP? I cannot seem to find them anywhere and don't own the DVD...
And in other news,
Emma Watson may not end up looking 9 years old forever.
