Let's say you were starting a small company, or joining a startup. Assuming money were no issue for yourself or your future employer, how would you describe your ideal office environment? I didn't use it, but Lizardtech, where a friend of mine worked, used to be in one large room. Each person got three tables forming a U shape and a chair in the middle with plenty of power and network outlets in the floor. Walkways all between the "desks". I always liked that setup. Plenty of space for computers and easy to get to their cables. I think they also had a living room space with couches and stuff.

This is exactly what I currently have and I love it.

I like being able to just look up and talk to someone for a quick question, or, if we have our headphones on, hit up IM even though they're right next to me.

Visually, I like lots of plants, but the place has to be some what low light since I do some graphics. Hate overhead florescent lights - kill those for some track lighting.

agree on 'no business casual' - either go actual-casual or formal, none of this ugly in-between nonsense.
