Jet down in Hudson River

The plane was bound for Charoltte, NC, then on to Sea-Tac. It hit a flock of birds on takeoff, and the pilot managed to gently put the jet down safely in the Hudson River, on the East Side of Manhattan. Supposedly everyone is off the plane safely and is being treated for exposure. It's about 20F in NYC now.

The pilots must have steel nerves to keep it together and land that plane just "right" without smashing the fuselage.

I watched some of the coverage on cnn.com right after they hit the water. Just this commercial plane sitting in the water being approached by ferries. Insane.
