I FLOVE you for continuing to do this. Seasons 2 and 3 were possibly my favorite, and though Flicka is always fantastic, she OWNED S3. So much goodness. Lynette/Nora interactions. The start of Evil!Kayla. Drinking on the porch with Gabby and Susan (one of my fave scenes ever). "Well maybe you deserved to be cheated on!" Creepy!Art. Getting sick. All the pizza business stuff (except for Rick - could not stand that, although I understand that was their segue into cancer). Lynette's awesome mom.
For real, the actress playing Kayla was amazing. She should return sometime, or oink, I don't know how that would work with the time jump. But anyway, I remember this scene in "Gossip" where she imitates Lynette's laugh when she's lying. That kid is flat out rocking the scene.
The drinking on the porch is hilarious for all the right reasons. "God called you a cab." The Art storyline got me confused because I wasn't sure if he was a pedophile in the end, or if he was only saying so to make her feel less guilty. Now I'm leaning towards.. yes, he was pedophile.
Ah, you didn't enjoy Rick? Looking back, it was all sort of sad, but I like some of the elements played out there, how it was an emotional affair. She didn't really act out physically with him, yet it wasn't right. At that point I remember feeling fed up with the way Tom treated her, so I thought a little break or separation might be better for the moment. Lynette's mom, I miss her.
Ahaha, yes! The laughing scene. That was wonderful. And, yeah. I miss all the little kids, actually.
Yes. I'm thinking he was as well, but. It was kind of tricky. It made you think, at least.
I guess I didn't hate him, but, I don't know. The writers were definitely making Tom out to be a mega douche at that point, and though Lynette didn't physically cheat, she was still doing something wrong, but I could see how she enjoyed spending time with Rick. That one scene where Rick confessed that he had feelings for her and Lynette told him he ruined everything and they couldn't do this anymore? Heartbreaking.
It did, that's what made me like it so much. The pictures in the basement seemed like pretty solid evidence.
That's what she realizes too when Lynette tells Stella she didn't do anything with him, and Stella replies "but you wanted to." So she ultimately takes it hard, it's wrong to her that her mind even went there.
♥!!11! I'm literally just about to walk out the door, but once again, THIS HAS MADE MY ENTIRE WEEKEND. You have made me want to watch every episode EVAR and it's such a problem my most favorite thing. Back later with further incoherency and flail.
Okay, so, in retrospect, I'm pretty sure season 3 is by far my favorite Lynette season? Aside from maybe season 1, but season 3 has some of the greatest Lynette moments EVER, so I'd think I'd have to say it's my number one. (Also, I know I've talk about her hair in every single one of these posts so far, but she definitely had the best hair during season 3. I'm just saying.)
"BITCH WITH A CAPITAL C" is literally in my top 10 Housewives moments ever. I remember rewinding and watching that scene on the porch at least 20 times after I first watched it. "Look, Susan, God called you a cab!" I want to get drunk'd with those crazies. Also, Bang, I cry every time, standard Felicity-Huffman-fan-response, yada yada. That end scene where she sees Mary-Alice is the yard breaks my heart in ridiculous ways. (Speaking of, how good was it to see her in the episode on Sunday night?!)
The anniversary episode is one of my favorites. Mostly 'cause of when they kiss on the porch at the end. ♥ And looking back, I loved the Lynette/Rick
( ... )
It's not a bad choice at all. Look at just how many great moments there were, of all kinds. You're right. Season 3 hair = best.
They had some perfect drunk galpals chemistry right there. It's one of the funniest scenes. Not over the top, very fitting for the characters, did I mention FUNNY?
She looked so beautiful in her Mary-Alice dream. So pleased that we got more Mary-Alice on the show now, too. What did you think of the episode, over all?
As a couple, I really loved both of them in the anniversary ep. Too cute. Lynette/Rick made me sad (sad Lynette, sad Tom), but I also loved seeing her so cute and cautiously flirty. It wasn't really "out there" at all, those little, innocent things he said made her feel so good. Like Fabiola already mentioned, a Lynette/Rick fantasy shower scene would be HOT.
Hey, we'll write long books to eachother. You can start by analyzing her hair in every scene. I would so read that.
"How about, 'you're in the frame, bitch, move.'" LOL FOREVER. You're making me wanna go back and watch this all again. I get the feeling I didn't finish season 3, but I cannot remember what the last episode I watched was (excluding random episodes I catch on the TV). So much pretty. ♥
SEASON THREE WAS GREAT, TOO (minus the mystery, again). OKAY HATERS? OKAY?! The only thing missing was Flicka's dream of getting to do a shower fantasy scene with Rick. Unf, she was a "Lyrick" fan, too. Okay, so let's begin:
01. "YOU'RE IN THE FRAME, BITCH. MOVE." 02. Omg, the birthday party episode is one of my absolute favorites. When she starts racing with Nora? L-O-FUCKING-L. 03. "You always come first with me. Do I still come first with you?" Breaking my heart, Felicity. 04. "Yeah, with someone with your coloring." God, those dresses were awful, bahahaha. 05. Flicka in a towel? More of that, please. 06. NORA AND LYNETTE IN THE CAR WAS FANTASTIC. 07. "You're colorful. Colorful in a way that might respond to mediacation." 08. DRUNK!HOUSEWIVES, I MISS Y'ALL. 09. "I'm a bitch with a capital C." FAVORITE. 10. "Ding dong." Why, hello GANGSTA LYNNIE. <3
( ... )
Lynette didn't annoy me in the anniversary up, rather in.. the one where she goes all against wearing the Scavo Pizzeria shirt.
With Stella, it's easy to see why Lynette got to be so strong and kickass. Just, yes. A+ casting choice, too.
That shower fantasy scene should have happened. Or just a teeny tiny Tom/Lynette break where they both dated other people? It could be interesting, but maybe hard to execute because of who they are as people. The scene before she gets locked up in the freezer is so cute too, "just a tired lady with a nice man who cooks for her", something like that.
They all do, absolutely. I miss moments like that with all of them together, it's fun.
We need to discuss the latest ep once I have seen it. I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing it♥
Ugh, the whole shirt incident was so out of character for Lynette. Yes, annoying but I blame that on the writers.
Yep, Stella was great. I mean, not as a mother but she made Lynette such a BAMF.
Ah, I was so sure Marc would pull of an upset for Tynnie fans. I really thought he would break them up at one point but it never happened. I don't think it will ever happen now. Oh well. And, yes, all the Lyrick dinner scenes were too cute. TOO. CUTE.
That is exactly what the show is missing. More Housewives interaction.
YES. It was mosdef one of the most disturbing/darker episodes of the show yet. I liked it but at the same time I didn't. But yes, once you've seen it, I shall explain this. Hahahaha!
Not as a mother, but she made Lynette a BAMF, and her scenes were pretty funny and heartbreaking.
Yes, I don't see it happening now. They're going to stick together through the show, and right now that doesn't bother me. I mean, if a split should have happened, it should have happened earlier.
Just watched it. Loved seeing Mary Alice back again. Other than that, the episode got better when Lynette was on screen. I just love her compassion, it's so Lynette to choose to do something about the situation. Gah, I was literally holding my breath in the end there. This is going to be intense. It kind of showed how Lynette picked up where Mary Alice started, I suppose, when it comes to helping him.
Watching this episode, I really wish I could have been there and seen it with you. IF ONLY.
