And Sam, I've found a rather old article from 1989's Wisden (y'know, the year after one G.A.Hick managed 2,713 runs in the season); it's full of that kind of optimism that's always embarrassingly funny in hindsight. I guess I should put some select bits of it up at some point... BTW, do you agree that, had he chosen Zimbabwe, his test average would have been much more like his first class one?
