TV updates

Because my brain is not working atm and I need to keep my fingers moving on the keyboard or else I will fall asleep on said keyboard.

I love Elementary. I love Lucy Liu, even though I was grumpy that they did not make her an army doctor (but who knows, maybe she was at some point in her life?) and I love how this show focuses on their platonic relationship, no tee-hee-will-they-won't-they, a better version of Bones' early seasons. I love how smart Watson is, how fast she learns, how high her emotional intelligence is and I must say I like this Sherlock more than the BBC version, i.e. this guy I would like to spend time with - whereas the BBC version is slightly more fascinating. I love how Sherlock is clearly not a sociopath, how emotionally vulnerable they allow him to be and how his addiction factors into this. Beekeeping! Makes me want to reread the Beekeeper's Apprentice right now. The show also leaves a good amount of agency to Watson, she makes her own decisions and is not Sherlock's yapping, annoying companion or starstruck devotee. Very enjoyable and my go-to show at the moment.

Oh, Revenge. My dreams came true when Nolan and Ems moved in together and became all Revenge-y and plotty together. Don't have much to say about it, I still love it and it's still one of the best - campy, fun, pretty - shows on TV this season. If Nolan gets his black little heart broken I will cheer Emily on as she goes nuclear on Nolan's CFO/love interest.

More Cary! This is odd for me because I do like Hustle alumn Mar Warren a lot, but they really don't need another blond dude vying for Kalinda's attention when they have Cary. So he should best leave. Also I'm not sure why Kalinda is afraid of him, she can handle emotionally instable and violent assholes, and he seems hardly more than that and a petty criminal. If he were, say a drug lord of Lemond Bishop's calibre, I would understand her trepidation more, but as it is I remain sceptical of this plot point and would like him to leave soon. Alicia remains my favorite character on this show, I am glad that Kalinda and her are making progress and I am happy to see Amanda Peet in a recurring role. Now if only Lisa Edelstein would come back …

I think I've dropped pretty much all my other shows except for Haven, which I am saving for winter holidays. Still on the fence whether or not to continue with The Walking Dead. On the one hand: Michi. On the other: Everyone else.

Oh Merlin. In my heart of hearts I will be glad when the announcement's out that this is the final season because the show has become kinda unwatchable. Sure, I love the epic Merlin/Arthur moments and use them as visual references for my headcanon, but, urgh. Show. I cringe. The only one who has somewhat consistent character development - scratch development, some sort of character consistency - is Merlin, Arthur is just dumb and a dumb kind and a dumb husband and a dumb friend who doesn't actually do any ruling and only holds council when to execute people, Gwen only gets screentime when she is evil and Morgana has been tortured and twisted into a persiflage of an evil witch. The knights are dumb, just when you think they couldn't possibly get dumber they actually get dumber and just, no. Who writes this shit? Who thought this was a good idea? How, who? Where is your quality control, BBC? Also, fandom, please stop wanking? Not everyone who says they don't like Gwen is a sexist homophobe who contributes to a climate of ~hate~ and not everyone who ships Gwen with Arthur wants Merlin to die. And yet, I cannot quit, but once this is over I'll most likely pretend that only S1 and 2 are my canon and everything else was a bad dream.

I love Deborah fucking Morgan. That's all. Oh and Jennifer Carpenter went from a good actress to being fucking brilliant in her portrayal of Deb (and supposedly at acting in general) in those seven years. It's a joy to watch her..
