Yay! :D Hee, I couldn't wait to read this. How awesome is your mom?! I'm so so so happy for you that you got to see Roger from row one. There really is nothing quite like it. And you were there for the entire bloody show, you lucky dog! :D It's a whole different experience when you're that close. When Roger looks at you...oh man, absolutely nothing like it. Did you find that in your first show you focused in more on the music? That's how it was for me, anyway. It seemed a lot longer the first time around, because I wasn't so caught up with what was going on down on the stage. You know, because they all looked like ants. Second time was like, the music was there, but there was so much more. Sensory overload, but in a good way. And you're right, you can't appreciate Roger's silly faces and actions quite as much if you're not close. My personal favourite was the way he wagged his arse during the "bulldog is a poodle" line. It was hilarious ( ... )

Thanks! Yes, I was so stoked that I was in the front row. Before the show I was actually a little upset that I didn't bring my phone with me because I really wanted to call my friends and tell them my mom had gotten front row seats. But I ended up being glad I didn't. When we went and saw Dave the guy next to me got a call during the concert and picked up. He was sitting there saying, "Yeah, we're at the David Gilmour show..." and I couldn't believe it. But I guess that's just because I'm so into the music and the artists behind it. Like, it might not be a big deal to anyone else, but it is to me, so please don't ruin it. But it was just great to have my mom there since she gets it. Right when he started to play "Mother" I looked back to see my mom sitting down and I drug her up and put my arm around her the whole song...it was amazing. :)

Did you find that in your first show you focused in more on the music?Yes, definitely! The first time it was very relaxing, even if they were so far away. This time it was RIGHT THERE and it just ( ... )

BLEEDIN AMAZING! thank you for sharing this. your mother is unbelievable. i just saw roger in irvine (and was also at one of the hollywood bowl shows in oct) and was SO much closer than before so i too got to see all the smiles and mannerisms and gestures and haven't been able to stop thinking about it.

two of my good friends saw U2 in omaha two winters ago and said that the audience was one of the best they'd ever been in. i don't think they had ever played there either. seems to be some kind of pattern then, but a cool one!

great pics..

No problem! I still can't believe I was that close...my mom is amazing. I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to make it up to her. I'm glad you got to be a lot closer, too. It's so much more entertaining when you can really see what Roger is doing. He really has a great time because he knows how much fun the audience is having. A great change from how alienated he felt because of audiences in the late 70's and early 80's!

Yeah, I still can't believe how great the audience was in Omaha. You just wouldn't expect it, but I'd never been to Nebraska before, so I didn't know what to expect.

Amazing pictures!

I saw Roger in Bergen in April, and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life. The Great Gig in the Sky was one of the highlights, so too bad that it wasn't that good at this concert.

Thanks!

Ah, it was alright. I mean, it is pretty hard to live up to Clare Torrey. I think the reason it was so good when I saw it preformed in Hollywood was because it was either Katie Kissoon or P.P. Arnold doing it instead of the other girl. And compared to everything else at the concert, it's a very minor thing to critique.

Why would I think he's an arsehole, I dare ask?
