ATTENTION ALL JAPANESE STUDENTS/SPEAKERS/WHATEVER: I know that you can download something for Microsoft Office so that you can type in Hiragana/Katakana.  However, since I have Windows XP and like Microsoft Word 97 running on my computer, none of the downloads on the Microsoft website work.

Is there any other free program that might operate more ( Read more... )

I use the NJStar Japanese Word Processor. It's awesome. It even writes in Kanji. Anyway, it's not free, but you can download a free trial. And I've been using the free trial for four years now without having to pay for it.
