ooc: The Intersect permissions post

Jul 03, 2010 19:08

A little over two years ago, Chuck opened an e-mail from his old college roommate, Bryce Larkin. The e-mail contained a riddle; Chuck solved it and a series of images was unlocked and played for hours while Chuck watched, captivated. Soon after, Chuck learned that he had absorbed top secret government information from these encrypted images and his ( Read more... )

Is there any reason your character would be in the Intersect? This means, would the United States government of Chuck's everyday Earth have any information on your character (or even an alternate version of your character, if you would like to breach those high walls)? oh man, uh. lily is a genetically modified life form in the ~future~, so probably not. there's a possibility there could be early plans or ideas for the project (creating super-beings with super strength, speed, etc) but no canon information. no einstellsehn or haine or people like that.
If Chuck ends up in a physical fight with your character, what style of fighting would he flash on? no idea. lily acts on instinct and doesn't follow a certain type of style. IT'S HIGHLY UNLIKELY THEY'LL FIGHT ANYWAY.
What languages has your character revealed knowledge of on the open comm's? english (common), afrikaans and the most basic of al-hebb. she knows a smattering of words in other languages but rarely uses them.
Is there anything else you could tell me that might help? ( ... )

I can totally run with the idea that plans for her project are in Chuck's brain! Same with the collar. But just being clear, it was a US government plan? Or even something that could be tied back to them in some way?

I'm really not sure. From the point in canon he's from, NEST might very well be on the books. But since that effects more than just Ironhide here, I'm hesitant. Personally, I'm cool with the Human-Autobot alliance being in the files, but I'm not sure how the other Transformer muns feel. So... unless they say "okay" too, I'm going to say "no", just to be safe.

... Running. It's unlikely Ironhide would get into a fight with the guy, but given that he's made of metal... Unless you mean what style Ironhide is using? Then it's a combination of knock-down-drag-out-dirty old fighting with a lot of punches.

'Kay... so... hypothetically, let's say you're talking to someone who knows nothing about Transformers canon... Is the existence of Autobots on Earth ever a secret from the public at large? The only way I could see the Transformers characters being in the Intersect is if the public has no idea that they exist, but the government does. Basically, government secrets. And I realize that would probably have to be okay-ed with the rest of the cast, so we can go with a flat no until we know? But in case it comes to that. I don't know, I'm just trying to cover some bases.

And... Chuck will never fight Ironhide ever. Chuck is actually averse to fighting, but... much more so with Ironhide.

... What, people like that actually exist? B|

Joking aside, the whole Autobot-human joint effort thing is known by the military. There's a special branch of it, NEST, that hangs around with the big guys, and fights the evil robots with them. The president knows about it, the Secretary of Defense sure as hell knows about it, so it's safe to say the government does too. The public... debatable. Probably by the end of the second movie, most people know something weird is going on. But not specifics.

But yeah, "no" might be best until the rest of the cast votes in |D

Chuck is a smart man.

Probably; Xanxus comes from Italy, and he's in the Italian mafia, serving the Vongola Family. He's the leader of their elite assassination squad called Varia.

If Chuck ends up in a physical fight with your character, what style of fighting would he flash on?

Well, without his guns and his box weapon that contains a super-powered liger, he'll probably just fight melee style. He still has the power to summon fire from his hands, but it takes a lot of energy.

What languages has your character revealed knowledge of on the open comm's?

Italian.

Is there anything else you could tell me that might help? Anything your character carries/wears that might be in the Intersect, for example? He does have the Varia emblem on two places of his coat; the left sleeve and the torso ( ... )

So can Xanxus' reality be assumed to be the same as Chuck's? Like... Xanxus has superpowers, right? Is this common knowledge in his world, or is it secret to just some people?

I'm totally about to clear up things on this post, so I'm sorry, I should have put this in the post itself. Hit and MISS.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say it's a superpower, but yeah. It's common knowledge to those involved in the mafia, since just about everyone can do similar things; however, the general public is completely clueless about the existence of these powers.

Sorry, I just... group things as superpowers, I guess.

Anyway, great! This means Chuck can flash on Xanxus if he sees him.

NBE-4. You betcha. Project Iceman and all that. He'd know that Megatron was on Earth, that the 'cons came for him, and who Barricade was. (Want/need more detail? IM at hellkittyclaws)

If Chuck ends up in a physical fight with your character, what style of fighting would he flash on?
Not...really recommending the physical fight with Barricade. You know, sharp silver talons and all that. Chuck would end up as Chuck Slaw. And that would be bad. (Or, to a Decepticon, good! ^^)

What languages has your character revealed knowledge of on the open comm's?
English and Cybertronian. (Which you'd have records of in the US Gov't files.)

I'm so flipping lazy and copypastaing the same thing I said about Ironhide, because this is the basic thing with the Transformers cast, since it's such a complicated fandom to figure out--it could be the same 'verse as Chuck's, it could not be.

Okay, so, here's my take:

Yes, government secrets. All that nifty technology like cell phones and all that has been reverse engineered from Megatron, who has been cryo-preserved under the Hoover Dam until 2007.

Average people don't know: the government does.

I'll go with whatever the rest of my canon mates say, but I think it would be neato.

And sorry about that html fail there. *d'oh!*

I would love to have info about them in the Intersect! But I want it to be a consensus, definitely.

And no worries! It was actually my html fail that got stuck on everyone else...

Is there any reason your character would be in the Intersect? This means, would the United States government of Chuck's everyday Earth have any information on your character (or even an alternate version of your character, if you would like to breach those high walls)? Reno's not from earth, but there's definite similarities between secret service/black ops/mafia and the Turks? Feel free to run with it!

If Chuck ends up in a physical fight with your character, what style of fighting would he flash on? Reno fights like... well he's a cross between military training, back alley fights and barroom brawls.

What languages has your character revealed knowledge of on the open comm's? Wutai (eventually, it's Mandarin to non-Planet people)

Is there anything else you could tell me that might help? Anything your character carries/wears that might be in the Intersect, for example? He wears a suit, and reffers to Veld/Tseng as Director, he himself is (somehow) Vice Director under Tseng. It's RENO :D

So Wutai would be the same as Mandarin?

messyturk July 4 2010, 07:47:00 UTC
I'm going with what the Tseng player has. Wutai is the "asia" of FF7-land, so apparently it's Mandarin. Reno's got a passable knowledge of it... he can order food and find a bathroom/place to stay.

It's not his usual but may come up at some point is all.
