First off, let me say it was an attempt at some "creative writing". But it did happen. Pretty much as written ( ... )

Well done, Solly, both with the creative part and the weight loss part. I'm sorry you were sick. Interesting that you call it "gastro." We usually say "stomach flu" or "tummy bug" or something like that. Gastro is much more accurate.

I've never fainted. The closest I came was after giving birth, when they made me get up to go to the bathroom. I think the epidural lowered my blood pressure so much, that getting up made me completely ill.

Thanks Meg. Yeah, most people call it "tummy bug" or even "the chucks" around here. I guess it comes from being married ot a doctor that I used the term "gastro" :)

The description you gave of nearly fainting pretty much matches the sort of stuff I got as an adolescent: low blood pressure meant it took a while for the blood to get to the head. I'm sure it was similar for you. The time I fainted way back when, it was more of a novelty: I sustained no injuries, and it was actually pretty fun! This time, though, it was a lot more dramatic (as I was sick) and it just got me thinking a lot more.

Thanks for replying. More to come at some stage ...

Cheers,
stb

I hope death is without the nausea.
Not a bad little piece.

Death without the nausea would be nice. Still, assuming old age, there is usually something making you feel pretty awful I think. Perhaps there will be morphine too, to make you feel better about it all.
