Nursing Tops

Jan 16, 2012 13:53

I'm passing the time until the baby comes by looking for nursing tops online.  Everything I'm finding looks so frumpy.  Any suggestions on cute places to find nursing tops?  I am mostly looking for things that are somewhat casual, but also anything I can wear to work.

I have given up on attractive nursing tops. I usually just wear a looser fitting or stretchy t-shirt and roll with that (a belly band to act as a tummy/back cover if you want the extra layer works very well, or I try to wear a cardigan until the weather breaks 70 to cover my back and side). A woman I went to church with when I was a teenage girl swore by buttoning front shirts, just regular ones, to be ideal for nursing modestly, and that's definitely work appropriate.

I sort of *had* to spend a fortune on maternity clothes. I was in court a lot, meeting clients, etc. so it was worth it. I'm trying to figure out how much I will need nursing tops at work. After the first 4 months (when he's coming with me), probably not much because I would obviously not be pumping in public.

The cardigan is actually one of my favorite nursing top options because I like that it covers my back. And with Ellie (but not Frisco because PR was so hot) I had a couple of tank tops where I cut actual holes out of the chest and just layered up. But both times, I wasn't working at all.

But yeah, I think good looking nursing tops are hard, if not impossible, to find.
