it makes no sense to me. drugs, that is. my older sister, amanda (the one with the two kids) stayed the night at her ex-boyfriend's / father of her daughter's apartment last night. so i come downstairs this morning, and she's back. techno music is playing loudly (as always) and she's in the bathroom playing with raving lights in front of the mirror

Hah... I've been doing weed for 8 years and haven't had the urge to do anything else, and I'm doing quite well. Gateway drug? Yeah, for idiots who were going to do other stuff anyway. Booze is the real gateway drug. I'd say your entire last five sentences were 100% false.
