if you trust the people who already have your loan, oftentimes they'll have a consolidation program available. i think that's how it's generally done.

i've got 4 loans thru citibank: 2 fed and 2 private. they are as consolidated as can be thru them. 2 fed loans are locked in at 3.5% and the other two are variable at 6.5% at the moment. i was hoping to find something with a lower rate. maybe even a balance transfer. i'll keep looking.
