Becker woke alone and for a moment was overwhelmed by a sense of loss. Then he became more aware and realised Connor was by the window watching the snow falling.

“Come back to bed, you’ll get cold,” he said.

“In a moment. It’s beautiful outside.”

Becker rose, a little reluctantly, and joined his lover. It did look lovely.

“No regrets?” he asked, slipping his arms around Connor’s waist.

“None,” replied Connor leaning into Becker.

“So we can marry?”

“That’s not a proper proposal.” Connor pouted.

Becker rolled his eyes.

Connor dropped to one knee. “Hilary Becker, will you marry me?”
