ROOMIES
Naturally Lester would never throw Connor out but it did Connor no harm to believe that his residency was precarious.
“Shape up or ship out,” ordered Lester and tried to avoid meeting Connor’s eyes. Were those tears glistening? He could swear Connor practiced for maximum effect.
When Lester arrived home that night his flat was almost tidy. Result! Then he opened a cupboard and was submerged under an avalanche of junk.
“Lester?” called Connor, summoned by the commotion. “Are you OK?”
“Narrrrrgh,” replied Lester. He shook off the clothes, books, models and uncategorised Connor-miscellanea and sighed, “I suppose you tried.”
