One of these days I oughta go pay my respects to your pops too. He was a great man and I'm sure he'd be proud that you're carrying on his legacy, pal.

Aw. Thanks, Gummy. That's sweet of you to say, especially considering how all he really gave you was...a paycut.

I'd say they were well-deserved. Guess I was still a little wet behind the ears back then.

I'm so pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful time with your mother! I'm very close to my mother and my mother-in-law as well, and I always look forward to a chance to spend some time with them, so I know just how you feel.

Also, I am glad you had the chance to honor your father. He must have been a great man.

A guy who actually likes his mother-in-law? Why, you're one of a kind, Ambassador!

...Yeah. He was a really great guy.

Oh yes, we're quite close friends! Is that very unusual here in the States?

I'm sure he must have been a fine father to have such an excellent daughter. I don't doubt that he would be very proud of you.

It's just that so many men here - in real life and things like TV shows and movies - don't like their mothers-in-law that it's become a stereotypical, logical fallacy fact of life. Like how men never ask for directions, or how women are bad drivers; it's not always true, but we see it as true because the exceptions to the rule are never shown to us.

Thank you, Ambassador. That really means a lot.
