Isn't it funny how the closer something is to happening, the more you just want it to happen already because you're sick of waiting (even if you were probably apprehensive about it happening earlier)? Yeah, that's how I feel about graduating right now. I mean, I've spent a good chunk of my life at school and don't exactly want to leave my teachers ( Read more... )

H-Heh, I wish I could say I was feeling the same.

Are ah, you going to do that Senior Ditch Day thing that I keep hearing about?

Well, like I said, I don't want to get into too much trouble before I leave - so, as much as I regret turning down an opportunity to get out of school, probably not. I've already got my share of unexcused absences, and if another one got tacked onto that...

That's probably a good idea.

A couple of my teacher's have already gone off on lectures about how they're really going to crack down on it, this year.

Really? I haven't heard much of Ditch Day other than mildly disappointed mentions, since I've only really got teachers who are either too old to care anymore or too young to put it down. So please, do tell.

That's great that you're almost done with school, pal! Your pops woulda been proud.

Have you thought about what you're gonna do after you graduate?

My dad always wanted me to go the whole nine yards when it came to education, so I'm goin' to college! I got accepted to Ivy University, and I'll probably go into something law-related...maybe follow dad's footsteps beyond just being a part of the Yatagarasu.

I-I don't really know, though. I'm still thinking about it.

Well good for you, Kay!

Believe it or not, I was never the scholarly type so I skipped college and joined the police force right out of high school. Education is important for a bright young girl like you, though!

Yeah, you always seemed more like a hands-on kinda guy. Act first, learn later, right? Heh.

What an exciting time of your life, Kay. I'm very proud of you.

I can understand your restlessness, though. I remember I felt the same at that point in my life, so eager to be away. I do admire your determination to follow the rules for this last little while.

Though I risk repeating yourself, if you need a job or a reference, you know you can rely on the embassy! I'm sure your future will be full of great things, regardless.

Aww, thanks, Ambassador!

Of course! I did say that I'd like to learn about public relations at the embassy, didn't I? I'll have plenty of time over the summer, so expect a visit!

School sounds more fun than training. I spent all of the last week sitting in a cold dank cave, being brought one bowl of white rice per day. Bleh.

Hm. I guess it's a "to each his own" sort of thing, 'cause spirit medium training sounds a lot more fun than learning about something like differential calculus. Ick.

Yeah, school takes a loooong time to get through, but it's worth it. I mean, when you get to make new friends, learn a bunch of new stuff and have fun while doin' it (well, most of the time), the years just kinda fly by.

Kindergarten graduation was forever ago, huh? What grade are you in now? Third or fourth?
