[Rhode's words are the proverbial slap in the face that stops Lenalee cold, heart suddenly pounding in ways she'd forgotten it could. Before she can stop herself:] I'm not letting him leave--

[That makes Rhode grin -- and she flicks on the video feed, to show it. Rhode Kamelot, in all of her glory, sitting on a windowsill. Her stockings are torn and dirty, there are cuts on her legs, and a lollipop between her fingers.

And the grin on her face is not happy. It's full of rage, anger -- sadistic joy in making Lenalee Lee suffer.

Because they had failed. The Order had failed. And the Noah, the Family, would be the ones to keep Allen Walker safe.

Her teeth scrape against the lollipop as Rhode drags it out of her mouth.]

Allen is gone.

[She startles, not having expected Rhode to switch to video as she did. Automatically, her hand goes to do the same, but all it takes to still her hand is that sneer. Lenalee swears the sound of her teeth across the lollipop rakes down her spine like nails on a blackboard.]

[And her voice is taught, betraying only tension.]
