I agree. What's passing for common sense with these yahoos?

It actually scares the crap out of me. Because it's only a matter of time before the people carrying guns around aren't making a political statement but have figured out they can legally intimidate people everywhere they go.

Although I have to say I prefer the logic of "you can carry a gun, but it darn well better be out there and obvious" to "you can carry a concealed weapon wherever you feel like going."

Concealed carry should always require a higher level of scrutiny and screening before permitting, IMO.

I think there's ample evidence that the so-called screening process doesn't work. Quite frankly I'd be a lot happier if they just enforced the laws already on the books, but since nobody seems willing to do that . . .

Agreed, though I'm not one of the "No guns at all" crowd. There's truth in the axiom that if that happens, the outlaws will outgun us.

Why scared? He's a law-abiding citizen exercising one of our Constitutional rights. I'm more scared of the politicians trying to take our rights away.

I disagree. He can *say* that's what he's doing all he wants, but the reality of the situation is, he's there to intimidate and make a statement. He's not across town with his weapons, making a statement to the press; he's right out front in a potential powderkeg situation ( ... )
