Your writing makes me shiver with emotion and understanding. Given a few more years of writing and reading you could be right up there with Jack Kerouac... among others, but he's who immedietly comes to mind when reading your work.

That being said, if it were me, I would have ended it with ". . . carry you all the way home." I wasn't crazy about the last paragraph.
