when i visited bard they made fun of the tour group and blew smoke in our faces.

Sounds like a pretty fair synopsis of Bard. Mostly nice, some jerks who attempt to ruin it for everyone--but the jerks aren't being pompous intellectuals so much as they're being rabid feminists or vegans or what-have-you. They can get tiring really quickly, though they're easy to avoid.

My advice, after a year at Bard, is that if you can't take the middle of nowhere, Lang sounds like a better idea. Bard's like summer camp in all of the really intense ways. The area's beautiful, though.

I've been to Lang a couple of times. If you're still like you were when we went to camp, I think you'd fit in really well there.
