We got my official biopsy results back yesterday. It's good news, for the most part, and it appears that followup chemo & radiation therapy may not be necessary.
- There's no evidence of cancer in my lymph nodes. This means that followup chemotherapy is not technically required. (However, I may still elect to have chemo, depending on what my oncologist says in our followup meeting next Wednesday.)
- Although they found invasive carcinoma throughout much of the lymphatic system in the breast, the surgeon did get "clean margins" (although one margin was only 1mm, which is a bit close for comfort). I believe that "clean margins" means that radiation will technically not be required -- although with the one margin being only 1mm, my oncologist may still recommend it.
