What Happened:

Sep 18, 2008 18:59

They gym-staff told me it was safe to lift weights on the ball.

They told me the ball was rated for 800 pounds.

They told me the ball had anti-burst features and would not just suddenly explode, dumping me to the floor.

They told me using the ball would develope core muscles in ways a bench could not.

After the ball burst, the gym's insurance company's investigation concluded I had been told the wrong weight capacity for the ball.

I'm not the only one. Peter Royal (above) of Jacksonville, Florida, was hurt worse than me.
