While I was browsing around, I found these crutch grips. Nice soft rubber grips for crutches. They're designed for underarm crutches, but if they don't fit mine, it'll be easy enough to modify them, even if I have to cut them open and gaff them on.

handles tilt downwards. I'm hoping this will stop the pressure being concentrated in my wrist joint, and stop having my hand permanently pressed at an unnatural angle. Should channel some of the force through the joint, rather than having all the impact on the joint. Or that's my theory, anyway. If nothing else it'll give my wrists a bit of variety; rather than constant pain in the one spot I can hurt somewhere new and different as well.

OH. That does sound a lot better. Why would they not know about these crutches, then? Man, people are idiots.

They're also a rather sexier colour :)

Good point! I'll have to get the Tree to get some paints; he's been offering his crutch-painting services for a couple of years now.

Oooh, shiny!! I find my hands ache after using my crutches. Perhaps these downward handles will be better for that too?

Quite possibly; I'll let you know how I go after I try these.

I'm apparently getting the flu, though, so it may be Monday before I get to them.

Wow. I can't blame you for your rage at having found them so. I'd be pretty pissed off as well. Here's hoping they work as you think, regardless. And good luck with the flu. I know we haven't spoken much lately, but I've not forgotten about you. So I'm glad you're hanging in there, though of course it would always be nice if things were better.
