There are so many things I'd love to say about Aveline, if I had the words. She was truly amazing; she'd survived more brutality than most people want to believe exist in the world, and come out someone I was proud to know. She'd made choices, and lived with the consequences with a vigour and a joy that amazed me. She knew far too well the lows,
