Well, I made it alive outta five weeks of psychiatry. There are some REALLY nutty people out there. Saw maybe around ten depressed patients with suicidal tendencies. Four schizophrenics. Last week I was in A&E working nights. Over the weekend I've been hugely busy, which means no time to relax/lie-in/adjust to new working pattern - on Monday, started 8-4 again. But because of a disturbed sleeping pattern, I've have less sleep over the last few days. And for me, less sleep = reduced immune system = more prone to infections = cold. I ( Read more... )

Last night was in A&E until midnight. Different type of patients - these are generally more serious. People with minor problems usually can't get an appointment with their GP or can't be arsed. Either way they head up to A&E. These people are the ones who arrive during the day but they won't come at night. Why? Because their problems aren't serious ( Read more... )
