CHARACTER INFORMATION-
Canon Character and Series: Anezaki Mamori, Eyeshield 21
In-Game Name: Anezaki Mamori
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Position & Ship: 4423 - Record Keeper
Appearance:
Mamori is a young woman, not beautiful but attractive. She is five feet and four inches tall, with a slender stature and neat demeanor. She dresses in a stylish, but not expensive clothes, preferring something comfortable to work in. For travelling, she has a classical Victorian dress from her days in Bellcius in her luggage, as any proper woman should.
Her features are smooth, with a gentle oval of her face and elegant ach of her eyebrows. The most prominent part of her face are eyes of bright blue color, fitting her pale complexion and her short chestnut hair. She usually smiles politely to everyone she talks to, and rarely gets excessively angry, unless she has to deal with the antics of someone insufferable in her opinion.
Personality:
Mamori is the type of girl you want to introduce to your mother: smart, polite and capable of organizing and keeping a household. She is a role model for a self-sufficient strong-willed young woman, capable of not only looking after herself, but also being helpful to the others.
Intelligent, she is very studious and meticulous in her way of gaining knowledge. If there is a subject she is interested in, she will find out as much as possible on it, and will keep on looking to deeper her understanding. She is very polite and proper. Even though her upbringing dictates for her to be respectful to those of higher position, of older age, or even strangers, she does so not out of duty, but because it's in her nature. She addresses everyone with respective ending to their name, but doesn't demand for people to address her in a similar way.
She is a very supportive person. Sometimes too caring, as she will go 10 extra miles to help somebody, without finding it troublesome (she may do it even if the person doesn't even require help). She has a sincere concern for people she cares for, getting very distressed when they fail at the task they are doing, and comforting them even if they are not upset.
She has a strong sense of Justice. If there is somebody who is in danger, she will be very protective, no matter the force she goes against. The fearlessness she shows in process is worth a praise, even to an extend of calling her bravery plain stupid.
She might get occasionally prejudiced by the appearance of the people around her, but she tends to quickly overcome that feeling after getting to know the person.
Abilities/Weapons:
She is a very fast learner with a good memory for detail. She is very skillful in collecting and organizing data. She uses her sense of justice to persuade people and serve as a mediator. There are rare cases when she becomes aggressive towards somebody, but she almost never fights physically. The closest she has to a weapon is a broom, which she applies for cleaning (and sometimes for deflecting bullets from one Hiruma Yoichi). Due to her training in trading business, she is quite profficient in understanding the quality of things and price that has to come with that quality.
She is quite good at pretending and acting, but she doesn't like to do it too often.
Mamori is bad with technology, so she almost doesn't use technological appliances. She has zero to none hacking ability, but she doesn't need it. Most of the calculations she does perfectly fine with a pen and a piece of paper. She can also clean, cook, wash and repair clothing and provide first aid.
Weaknesses:
Even though she is strong-willed, she is of average strength and has no knowledge of martial arts or weapon proficiency. She is useless in a fight, unless for planning purposes.
Some people think that her open and amicable behavior is just pretence, and turn suspicious and even hostile towards her. While mostly her interactions with other people are neutral, some may see her cheerfulness and righteousness as an annoyance.
She won't willingly participate in something illegal and inappropriate, unless she sees that it is done for a higher purpose and for better good. On the other hand, she is opened to possibilities, and is relatively easily persuaded (or lied to, like someone does).
She has an older sister complex towards her childhood friend Kobayakawa Sena, and it makes her overprotective and motherly. This may spread to the other people, if she feels that she is responsible for them as well.
She may be scrumptious if it comes to details, and a neat-freak when it comes to cleanliness.
She is very fond of sweets, especially creampuffs.
Also, she can't draw, even though it doesn't stop her from scribbling on spare pieces of paper while thinking.
History:
Mamori Anezaki was born in Bellcius in a well-off middle class family. Both of her parents were in ore trading business, but her late father died during one of his trips to the Badlands when she was little. Her mother, a calm and composed woman, brought her daughter up the best way she could, giving her classical education, as well teaching her accounting and foundations in business management. Mamori grew up into a fine woman, and had plenty of suitors, all of them turned down politely.
The closest person to her was her neighbor one year younger then her, Kobayakawa Sena. From early years, she was his older sister figure, and took great care of him, as if he was her meek and helpless younger brother, protecting him from bullies, and helping him as much as she could. When he decided to go to the Belarus Academy, she supported his decision and dedicated her time to prepare him for an entrance examination, and, after he successfully started his studies, helping him with his grades, obtaining in process the knowledge on the subjects taught to him.
She was shocked beyond words when during the training flights, Sena's ship crashed and he has gone missing. She set on his search, and after failing to find him on the territory of Ivona, she decided to cross the Badland. Basically without any money, as her mother claimed it is not suited for a proper lady to go into such a dangerous journey and declined her funding in a faint attempt to stop her, she moved from place to place, doing small jobs and dirty work.
During her temporary work in one of the small bars in Badlands, she encountered Hiruma Yoichi. She heard of him before, there was a lot of talking on the streets about Agon and him creating havoc in the trading district back when she lived in Bellcius. Now the story met the picture and Hiruma, to her surprise, turned out exactly as they described him: rude, crude and insufferable. She would have any reason to deal with him, but if someone knew how to get to Volemar quickly and more or less easily, that had to be him. I took some time to make a deal with him (and a lot of her nerves as well), and in the end, she bought his services for a ridiculously large sum of money and parted their ways, and she vouched not to make deals with him ever again as he literally dumped her on the first stop over the border.
She made her way to Berum, and spend time, looking for any signs of Sena ever appearing here, earning little money in process. Her search brought her on board of 4423, and, unfortunately, to Hiruma Yoichi's grinning face.
At least, now the crew of 4423 didn't need to go diving into the sea of paper to find something in the records archive.
SAMPLES-
Third Person (roleplay):
Mamori walked gingerly through the dockside, lifting up her skirt just to the right level for it not to get sullied with mud.
She had a paper in her hand, which she kept fanning herself with. One minus of these dresses, so popular in Ivona, was that it was absolutely impossible to breath in them - quite ironic, taking into account all that pollution going on in the capital.
She stopped briskly, and looked at the paper again. It was a hand-drawn map of the dockside, with barely legible handwriting of a clerk from local administration, kind enough to explain to her the way. It made little sense, but the little squares and dots looked quite promising.
Mamori looked around. This didn't seem like the place for trading ships: along the dockside stood small to medium sided vessels, usually used for transportation of people and goods - most of the times, illegal ones - covered in obligatory soot, and sweet little messages like "Wash me" left by children.
Anezaki stared at the ships for a moment, back at the map, and sighed, folding it to a tiny piece, momentarily disappearing in her sleeve. Her mother always taught her not to get frustrated in these kind of situations, and that was what she was planning to do. Mamori straightened up, and with walk of a woman who had nothing to loose, except for her dignity, started to make her way down the pier, taking in the details of the ships.
That was quite a pitiful sight. Not just the soot, which made her senses of tidiness tingle unpleasantly, but the quality of the wood and metalwork, the build of the hull, the way the masts creaked pleadingly, they all seamed disheveled and handing for their life.
Her eyes focused on the next ship and she stopped abruptly. There was something about it made her stand and admire. She was the ship the caught the eye, neat and smart. This was a ship she wanted to work at.
Mamori walked to the man, smoking near the ladder with a bored expression.
"Are you looking for crewmates? I have my recommendations with me," she smiled politely, passing him an impressive stack of papers from her bag.
He stepped the cigarette in to the ground, and looked through the papers. The look he gave her was quite suspicious.
"Are you sure you want to work here?"
She looked back, a confident woman who already made up her mind.
"Most definitely."
First Person (journal):
[Private] [Unhackable]
Difficult times call for extreme measures. If the only way to move around is on a pirate ship - then pirate ship it is.
But still, that's amazing! Never though I'll find such a nice ship in a town like this. She looks steady, but judging by the location of the pipes and the hull shape, she should be quite fast. Of course, the high number of guns on board doesn't add up to the feeling of safety, but some things in Vohemar are given. +Are they?
Got a letter from mother today. She still writes that she is worried about me and I have to return home, but she has to understand, as she is worried about me, I'm worried about Sena. He is a small and weak boy, it's so easy for him to get in trouble. I know she won't be satisfied with my reply, but I can understand her concern perfectly well, so the least she can try to see it from my point of view.
On a slightly more disturbing side: I have a feeling that something is amiss. I've been on the ship for just a couple of hours, but I have this growing feeling that I'm being watched. Of course, it's not like I've met all the members of the crew yet, but just a half hour ago I think I saw a shock of bright blond hair in the corridor. I really hope this is not who I think it is. Our cooperation didn't end up well the last time we met, not to mention he was simply unpleasant, and rude, and insufferable, and+ Who am I kidding, he was horrible!
That's all for now. I still need to do some organizing in the records room - it seems nobody has been in there for a couple of month. At least.
P.S. I think there is a dragon on board...
If you want to kill me because I suck at RPing Mamori, do it here. Comments hidden.
