[So now that everybody's back in their cells, with newly added beds, there's a newbie! And now that he's waking up, it takes a moment before he apparently settles his mind on what must have happened, and finally speaks, a little awkwardly, as if he's not used to using this language - but with a tone that clearly shows he's used to being in command

That's awfully dramatic, isn't it? Dramatic in a good way. Sort of like a play where everyone dies at the end. Those are always fun!
