Distracted by the various papers before him, Chase only glanced up casually as the door opened - and did a double take when a wheelchair-bound girl was escorted in and left near the door. Those security guards, of course they would be - but that wasn't the point. Chase was up and around the desk in seconds to gently bring the girl closer to the desk without forcing her to do too much extra work immediately. Sadist, yes, vicious brutal warlord, yes, but impolite? Never. And earning at least one patient's trust would get him a little closer to destroying all the rest of them ( ... )

Chase watched as the girl felt her way around his desk and rapped on it. He studied her carefully, glancing down at her dossier once or twice to match the information there to the girl before him. Wheelchair-bound and blind, and apparently somewhat mad. Yet she seemed to be doing at least moderately all right for herself. He could see that she was listening intently by the way she moved. Her actions to figure out his desk were also a giveaway. Coping without sight apparently came easily to her.

Or at least she had adapted. Somewhat admirable in humans.

"I'm glad to hear it." Though he wouldn't begrudge the patients a fight or two, she didn't seem like the type that would consider it, nor would she be much of a challenge. "There will always be time for me to answer questions, as that can only help the healing process." Chase idly folded his hands on his desk and watched Nunnally, not bothering to disguise his interest on the grounds that she wouldn't be able to tell the difference. "Ask away."
