Er, yeah, I'm fairly sure they're malfunctioning. This hasn't happened in quite a while, and when it does happen, it never means anything good.

It's been a while since this has happened, but with devices as indestructible and unfaltering as they are on normal occasion, having problems with a good number of them almost definitely means something's very, very wrong.
