Oh, right you didn't know them...

They're... old friends, Winry. I don't know if you remember this, but we stayed with the Sewing Life Alchemist, Shau Tucker, for a little while. Nina is... was his six-year-old daughter, and Alexander was their dog.

Shau was corrupt. He no longer knew the limits of experimentation. H-he... he combined Nina and Alexander into a chimera. They died shortly after that. Scar. We could have saved them, Winry, but we couldn't protect her in the end.
