Poll It's raining, it's pouring...

The rain is making me sort of melancholy, damping down my blood lust, so I thought today would be a good day to battle ideas or even just shapes. This one comes down to circle vs. square, really.

So pointillism like Seurat, or cubism like Braques and Picasso?

pointillism, cubism, art

I've always liked the "zoom out" effect of pointillism. Yay, dots!

I am fascinated by the reasons people have for picking one over the other. :D

I agree with you too. Pointillism is prettier.

Pointillism is so very pretty, but cubism owns a huge chunk of my heart if only for how much it fasinates me to stare at. The dots are lovely to play with, but they don't make me want to touch and trace along the painting as much as cubism.

But will the sharp edges of the cubes stab all the dots and smear them?

Good point. I am amazed at the likes and dislikes. Apparently the dots make some people blind and headachey!

I really like Braques a lot. Picasso--what can I say?

Pointillism would win because they could pull it off with short sharp shocks.
