Hear, hear! I very much agree about hunting there, and I think you've hit the nail on the head when you say that it's not so much the specifics that are the problem but that it's the institution as such that cannot be justified. I'll have to remember that!

Thank you. I didn't know if anyone would bother since its almost a wall of text. I had to restrain myself from going further. For some reason I just see in red when 'furs' argue something like this.

It's also hard not to make it sounds self righteous and like a jerk when your premiss is, this is wrong and an immoral argument. Its also difficult to be calm, rational and persuasive over something I have tremendous emotion invested in.

*noddles* Oh yeah, I know what you mean there. I've seen self-described furs defend hunting[1] before, but I just can't wrap myself around how someone can argue like that and still claim that they like animals. Even if someone's only in the furry fandom because they happen to enjoy drawings of anthropomorphs, you'll still have to like the animals to some extent to appreciate these, right? (And of course, the people that do defend trophy hunting invariably claim a much deeper connection to furrydom, too.)

And yes, it's very difficult to stay calm over it, but you managed to do a very good job here.
