Sorry you're feeling so out of place, even though you've been there for, what, five years now? That's just dumb.

And, for the record, I have NEVER told someone, "Oh, you don't understand 'cause you're not from around here." That's ridiculous and pisses ME off!

And... I still can't get over y'all starting school in JULY. I think Seth would run away from home if he had to go back so early ;)

I'm not sure when he starts back this year. Probably around August 15, as usual, unless our school district is finally going to do what the Texas Legislature voted that all Texas school districts do and start AFTER Labor Day...

It'll be three years on July 31st. I don't always feel like i am out of place, but there are days when it really gets oon my nerves.

Are you pissed that I have had people tell me I dont get it cause I am a yankee or pissed at me? Is this one of those 'oh bless her heart' comments? :)

I have ALWAYS started school the day after Labor Day and when we came down here adn I went to register the twins for Kindergarten in early August, it BLEW MY MIND to find out that school had been in session for two weeks already! I think this is the last year for this early start.

Now, of course I meant that those people there are so rude to imply that you're somehow defective because you didn't grow up there!

And the "bless her heart" thing made me laugh ;) You know, I find myself saying that much more than I used to... I must be getting old.

After 7 years in Maui they still treated us like tourists, LOL and my new co-workers think that I've lost all my marbles to leave Hawaii for Pittsburgh. Maybe Locutus did have a point :D

You probably got caught in the "back to school" rush for Dell. Seems like just when kids start showing up to register for university and Xmas are the longest delivery times on computers.

thanks! dinda July 17 2007, 14:09:25 UTC
thanks for the nice text message and wishes. it was a good day but I've tons of work to do - ugh. when it rains it pours with this project. so, don't understand why folks tell you stupid stuff like that. . .there were some bumper stickers with the "Welcome to Texas. . . now go home" for awhile. Yeah, they're friendly and love new folks but don't want company staying too long. Nice that you found a group to hang with; I find that the hardest down here. okay, really must run now!
