Went to Cardiologist today. He ran a few tests, took history and all that, listened to my heart for like 15 minutes and said that he didnt think it was anything more than the hypertension screwing with my heart rate. Just to be sure, I need to go back on Sept 10 & 12th for a nuclear stress test and an echocardiogram. So i get to run on a treadmill ( Read more... )

Whoa, I missed something! *reads your earlier post* Eeep! I'm glad you're getting checked out and I hope the tests go well and your hypertension can be easily corrected.

I haven't done a stress test, just an echo (and Holter monitors). The echocardiogram isn't bad though -- you just get to lie there and hang out. With luck, they'll warm the gel for you. :)

I'll be sending good thoughts your way. *big big hugs*

Yeah, I've had an echo before, thats how they found the mitral valve prolapse. The prolapse and my heart murmur are the reasons they are doing the more involved nuclear test. I guess i should be thankful that they are being throrough ( totally sure i spelled that wrong!) Thanks for the thoughts and hugs! I am always in need of those!

Glad things look good so far. Treadmill test sounds fun. NOT! The fact that it's two weeks away should be a good sign. Huggles still.

You're being a real trooper about it all. I'm sure it's scary feeling.

You have my prayers, love and good thoughts.

glad it wasn't like a friend of mine's husband who at 30 yoa had open heart surgery within a day of having some chest pains! Stress sux, and the cure, they tell you to "just relax" as if! And with work and the kids in school and geez, who has time to relax? That would be the two minutes you're in the bathroom before someone knocks on the door or just walks in to ask you a question like "where are the dog treats?" or some other urgent thing.

If all else fails maybe you can take up that wonderful southern hobby of shooting things. A nice trip to the gun range, writing the name of your least favorite person on the bullseye circle then blast away your problems. ;-)

good luck Mama!

I had no idea! I really hope that it's nothing and that something will be done about it! Girl take care of yourself! You really need some time to just relax and be pampered for a while.
